Classes

PIANO, GUITAR & SINGING
These are primarily private lessons, but small group lessons may be available on request.
Instrumentation and singing lessons go hand in hand with music theory lessons. Theory is included in lessons as it is necessary, but to ensure a well rounded knowledge of music theory, supplementary lessons are recommended.

Piano lessons will use an appropriate level method book along with scales and exercises to develop music reading and correct playing technique. Lessons will also cover contemporary music styles through the use of chord charts and lead sheets to encourage performance readiness and accompaniment skills.

Singing lessons will use a combination of sheet music and lead sheets to develop note reading skills; vocal and breathing exercises to develop posture; tone control and breath support; along with karaoke tracks and simple chord accompaniment to develop rhythm and listening skills.

Guitar lessons will cover basics such as tuning, correct grip and posture, open chords, finger exercises, rhythm and strumming patterns, chart reading, and an introduction to TAB and note reading.
